The Super-Curriculum

A Distinctive Feature

Intellectual Curiosity and Academic Ambition

The Super-Curriculum is a distinctive feature of the Concord educational experience, extending learning beyond the classroom and encouraging students to explore subjects in greater depth. It is a significant part of our students’ success- both in public examinations as well as in gaining places at the world’s best universities.

Designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity and academic ambition, the programme provides opportunities for students to engage with areas of study that reflect their individual interests and future aspirations.

Key Components

Academic Societies

The Super Curriculum at CCIS is structured to ensure that learning continues beyond the traditional academic subjects, developing students’ critical thinking and preparing them for top universities worldwide. Key components include:

Academic Societies: Teacher-led and student-led groups like the Law Society, Medics Society, Philosophy Club, and ICT & Robotics.

University Partnership

Collaboration with Xiamen University Malaysia

Concord College International School benefits from its location directly opposite Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), offering exceptional opportunities for academic and extra-curricular collaboration. This close proximity is complemented by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a unique arrangement that enriches the educational experience for our students and is a distinctive advantage within Malaysia’s international school landscape.

This partnership has already enabled Year 11 and Year 12 students to participate in science workshops hosted by XMUM, while joint sporting activities, including volleyball training sessions, have fostered meaningful interaction between students from both institutions. As the partnership continues to develop, it will create even more opportunities for collaboration, enriching students’ learning experiences and broadening their educational horizons.

Beyond the Syllabus

Research Projects and Academic Challenges

Academic Competitions: Participation in prestigious Olympiads spanning Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

Research Projects: The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which allows Sixth Form students to conduct independent, university-level research.

Academic Challenges: Age-appropriate enrichment events such as the Concord Secondary Maths Challenge and Concord Primary STEAM Challenge.
