PRE-UNIVERSITY

Preparing Ambitious Minds for the World Beyond School

The Sixth Form represents the culmination of a student’s school journey and the beginning of exciting new opportunities. It is a time of intellectual challenge, personal growth and increasing independence, where students refine their academic interests, develop confidence in their abilities and prepare for higher education and life beyond school.

At Concord College International School, our Sixth Form provides an academically rigorous and supportive environment where students are encouraged to think independently, embrace responsibility and pursue excellence with purpose. Guided by experienced teachers and personalised university counselling, students are well prepared to progress to leading universities both in Malaysia and around the world.

Our Approach

Academic Excellence

Sixth Form students are encouraged to become independent scholars, taking ownership of their learning whilst benefiting from the guidance and expertise of dedicated subject specialists.

Small class sizes foster meaningful discussion, intellectual curiosity and close collaboration between students and teachers. Lessons challenge students to analyse, evaluate and apply their knowledge, developing the critical thinking and academic discipline expected at university.

Through high expectations, personalised support and a culture of academic ambition, students are empowered to achieve their full potential.

Curriculum

A-Level Programme

Our Sixth Form curriculum offers a carefully selected range of A-Level subjects, enabling students to pursue areas of study that reflect their strengths, interests and future aspirations.

Students are supported in selecting subject combinations that align with their intended university courses and career pathways. Throughout their studies, they are encouraged to deepen their understanding, undertake independent research and develop the confidence to engage with increasingly complex ideas.

The A-Level programme provides a strong academic foundation for entry into leading universities worldwide.

Enrichment

Beyond the Classroom

Learning in the Sixth Form extends well beyond academic study.

Students are encouraged to broaden their perspectives through the Super Curriculum, academic enrichment, leadership opportunities, community engagement and co-curricular activities. These experiences strengthen university applications whilst developing the confidence, resilience and interpersonal skills that will serve students throughout their lives.

By participating actively in the wider life of the school, students learn the importance of initiative, collaboration and responsible leadership.

Futures

University Preparation

Preparing students for university is an integral part of the Sixth Form experience.

Our dedicated guidance programme supports students throughout the university application process, helping them explore appropriate pathways, identify their aspirations and make informed decisions about their future.

From subject selection and personal statement guidance to interview preparation and application support, students receive personalised advice that enables them to present themselves with confidence to universities around the world.

Our aim is to ensure that every student is well prepared for the opportunities and challenges expected at university level.

Leadership

A Community of Young Leaders

The Sixth Form offers students increasing independence alongside greater responsibility.

As senior members of the school community, students are encouraged to lead by example, contribute positively to school life and serve as role models for younger students.

Whether through student leadership, mentoring, service initiatives or collaborative projects, Sixth Form students develop the confidence, maturity and integrity that characterise a Concord education.

These experiences help prepare them not only for university, but also for the responsibilities of adult life.

Future

Looking Beyond Concord

Graduating from Sixth Form marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Students leave Concord College International School with the academic knowledge, intellectual confidence and personal qualities needed to thrive in higher education and beyond.

More importantly, they leave as compassionate, resilient and globally minded young adults, equipped to contribute meaningfully to their communities and to embrace the opportunities of an ever-changing world.
